In line with the 2025 national motto, “Investment for Production”, announced by the Supreme Leader of Iran, Soroush Sepehr New Technologies Company, as the venture capital arm of Sepehr Saderat Investment Group, has launched a specialized initiative titled “Sepehr Knowledge-Based Production.”
This initiative has been designed and initiated to identify problem-oriented investment opportunities within Iran’s innovation and technology ecosystem and to strengthen the country’s venture capital position at the regional level, paving the way for the growth of the knowledge-based economy.
Targeted Investment of $3.1 Billion
Hassan Zali, CEO of Soroush Sepehr New Technologies Company, highlighted the importance of technology-driven production and stated:
“In order to fulfill the national motto and address the country’s macro challenges through solutions provided by knowledge-based and innovative companies, we decided to establish a comprehensive initiative within the knowledge-based economy ecosystem. This movement provides a platform to identify and support pioneering companies to produce value-added products.”
According to the company’s plan, Sepehr Saderat Investment Group has allocated a total of 3.1 billion USD (equivalent to 1.3 Hemmat in local terms) for investment under this initiative.
Expanding Strategic Partnerships
The Vice-Chairman of the Board further noted:
“At the beginning of the year, we mapped out a comprehensive overview of the actors within the knowledge-based economy ecosystem. Our goal is purposeful engagement with these institutions, both to pursue investments and to gain deeper insights into the capabilities of the technological ecosystem.”
As part of this plan, at least 15 cooperation agreements with active stakeholders in the sector are being targeted.
Technology Exchange to Address Industrial Needs
Zali emphasized the industrial capacity of Sepehr Saderat Investment Group and Bank Saderat Iran, stating:
“Through this initiative, we aim to identify the capabilities of knowledge-based companies and meet our technological needs via technology exchange. We have already launched cooperation with two specialized organizations in this field.”
Initial Achievements Since Early 2025
A member of the Knowledge-Based Committee of Sepehr Saderat Investment Group announced:
“Although the initiative began its operations informally earlier this year, we have already signed cooperation agreements with institutions such as Isfahan Science and Technology Town, Oil Industry Science and Technology Park, ICT Science and Technology Park, and Gilan Science and Technology Park. More than 110 technology proposals have been submitted by knowledge-based companies for investment evaluation.”
Furthermore, active collaboration is underway with entities such as the Vice-Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy (Pioneer Companies Program), the Nanotechnology and Microtechnology Development Headquarters, the Union of Medical Equipment Manufacturers, and the Ministry of Science’s Investment Atlas Program.
Future Outlook
Zali concluded:
“The Sepehr Knowledge-Based Production Initiative will continue until the end of 2025. A comprehensive call for proposals will soon be announced under the title ‘TAMAS – Financing with Soroush Sepehr’ to attract and evaluate innovative projects.”
