A specialized credit assessment workshop aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of financial and credit experts, particularly in research and technology funds, was held on Wednesday and Thursday, October 8–9, 2025. The workshop was organized in collaboration with the Secretariat of the Specialized Working Group of Research and Technology Funds at the Innovation and Prosperity Fund of the Presidential Office, Arz-Afarin Etemad Credit Rating Company, and the Iranian Venture Capital Association.

More than 50 financial and credit experts and managers attended the workshop, both in-person and online, benefiting from the experiences of prominent industry leaders. The presence of this specialized audience increased the scientific and practical quality of the sessions and facilitated professional discussions and experience exchange. Notable participants included Mr. Pedram Sadeghi – Chief Financial Officer of Snapp Supply, Mr. Kaveh Padarampour – CEO of Digikala CVC Fund, Mr. Mehdi Dehghani – Head of Financing at Bank Mellat Investment Company, Mr. Saeed Shojaei – Vice Chairman of Thamin Sarmaye Amin, and Mr. Mostafa Arab – CEO of Arz-Afarin Etemad Credit Rating Company.

Key topics discussed during the workshop included financial statement analysis, project evaluation and financing, credit risk identification and management, and credit assessment modeling within the knowledge-based ecosystem. Participants acquired both theoretical and practical insights into credit assessment and became familiar with real-world challenges of knowledge-based companies while benefiting directly from managers’ experience. In addition to technical training, the workshop provided opportunities for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and networking among professionals in the field.

By collaborating in organizing this workshop, the Iranian Venture Capital Association played a central role in enhancing the knowledge and capabilities of financial and credit experts and pursued its goal of professional development for investors and innovation ecosystem actors. By facilitating knowledge sharing, transferring senior industry experience, and creating networking opportunities, the Association contributed to sustainable growth and the enhancement of professional standards within the national innovation ecosystem. Furthermore, by documenting specialized discussions and offering practical solutions in credit assessment, the Association supported the development of managerial and technical capacities of research and technology funds and knowledge-based companies.

The organization of this workshop exemplifies the Iranian Venture Capital Association’s ongoing efforts to elevate professional standards, enhance the capabilities of financial and credit experts, and strengthen the professional networks within the national innovation ecosystem. Such initiatives are expected to improve investment decision-making and credit assessment processes in companies and research and technology funds.
