The Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) Research and Technology Funds Commission of the Iran Venture Capital Association held its latest meeting on August 24, 2026, hosted by the ArioGene Research and Technology Fund and attended by members of the Commission’s Executive Board and the Association’s Secretary.

The meeting focused on several key issues affecting the development of corporate venture capital in Iran, including proposed contractual frameworks for CVC funds, the use of financial instruments such as partnership financing and debt purchase, regulatory amendments, and plans for an upcoming meeting of CVC chief executives.

Reviewing Contractual Frameworks for CVC Funds

One of the main items on the agenda was a review of the proposed contract formats for CVC funds.

Commission members discussed the need for contractual frameworks that better reflect the operational requirements and investment models of corporate venture capital funds. The discussion focused on identifying areas where existing structures could be improved to facilitate more effective investment and cooperation with technology-driven and innovative businesses.

Expanding the Range of Financial Instruments Available to CVCs

The Commission also examined the potential for CVC funds to make greater use of financial instruments such as partnership financing and debt purchase.

Members emphasized that broadening the range of available financing mechanisms could provide CVCs with greater flexibility in supporting technology companies, innovative businesses, and technology-based projects.

Regulatory Reform Proposals to Be Submitted to Policymakers

Another part of the meeting focused on regulatory and operational challenges currently facing CVC funds.

Commission members proposed several amendments to the relevant regulations. Following further review and consolidation within the Commission, the proposals are expected to be submitted to the relevant policymaking bodies for consideration and follow-up.

CVC CEOs to Meet During INOTEX

The Commission also discussed plans for a dedicated meeting bringing together CVC chief executives and members of the Commission’s Executive Board.

The meeting is intended to create a direct forum for CVC leaders to exchange experiences, discuss shared challenges, identify common priorities, and explore areas for greater collaboration across the sector.

The meeting will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., hosted by Pardis Technology Park alongside the INOTEX exhibition.
