The first meeting of the Scientific-Advisory Committee of the Iran National Technology and Innovation Financing Award (INTIFA) was held on Tuesday, May 14, 2025, hosted by the Innovation and Prosperity Fund.
According to the Public Relations Office of the Iran National Venture Capital Association, the Iran National Technology and Innovation Financing Award (INTIFA) is scheduled to take place on August 26, 2025. This award aims to recognize and honor pioneers and influential figures in the field of science, technology, and innovation financing in Iran, as well as to introduce innovative financial tools and mechanisms in this domain.
The session was attended by several prominent figures from the innovation and technology ecosystem, including:
- Dr. Sajadi Neiri, President of the Iran National Venture Capital Association
- Dr. Ahmadvand, Head of the Nanotechnology Development Headquarters
- Dr. Aboujafari, Faculty Member at the Technology Studies Institute
- Dr. Parisa Alizadeh, Faculty Member at the National Research Institute for Science Policy
- Dr. Sadri, Secretary of the VC Investment Institutions Commission
- Eng. Joghatayee, Secretary of the Research and Technology Funds Commission
- Dr. Karshenas, Secretary of the Iran National Venture Capital Association
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Sajadi Neiri elaborated on the background and achievements of Iran’s technology and innovation financing ecosystem. Following that, Dr. Amir Hessam Behrooz, Secretary of the Award, presented an overview of the objectives and mission of INTIFA and outlined its main components.
The committee members discussed the significance and necessity of holding this award within Iran’s knowledge-based ecosystem. They emphasized the importance of identifying, highlighting, and modeling successful experiences in innovation financing.
The award includes the following main categories:
- Honoring leading institutions in areas such as credit facilities, guarantees, venture capital, crowdfunding, business angels, and sector-specific investments
- Recognizing impactful financial tools and innovations that support the financing of startups and knowledge-based companies
- Honoring pioneers and notable individuals in the field of technology and innovation financing
The special award categories include:
- Outstanding educator or educational institution in technology and innovation financing
- Active journalist or media outlet in the field
- Innovative tools and financing solutions
- Influential individual or organization in innovation financing
- Distinguished veteran in the field
The first edition of this award is being organized with the collaboration of the Vice-Presidency for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy; the Innovation and Prosperity Fund; the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology; and the Secretariat of the Working Group on Research and Technology Funds.
The primary audience of this award includes banks, research and technology funds, venture capital firms, corporate venture capital funds (CVCs), angel investors, crowdfunding platforms, publicly listed VC funds, innovation facilitators and accelerators, valuation firms, and advisory firms involved in IPO underwriting and capital market services.
