A specialized workshop entitled “Specialized Training on Taxpayer System Regulations” was held with the aim of clarifying legal requirements, addressing implementation ambiguities, and providing practical training. This event was organized by the Iranian Venture Capital Association (IVCA) in collaboration with representatives from financial institutions, research and technology funds, knowledge-based companies, and innovation-driven organizations from across the country.
In total, more than 65 representatives from financial institutions, research and technology funds, and knowledge-based companies participated in these two training sessions, which took place on Wednesday, June 10, 2025, and Wednesday, July 16, 2025.
This specialized training course, held at the Innovation and Prosperity Fund, was part of IVCA’s capacity-building agenda and was supported by the Secretariat of the Specialized Working Group on Research and Technology Funds. It aimed to strengthen technical expertise and foster synergy among the country’s research and technology funds. The event drew wide participation from financial and innovation actors from various regions, providing a valuable platform for inter-provincial networking, experience sharing, and collaborative problem-solving in addressing the challenges of implementing this new regulation.
Given the high demand, the workshop was conducted in two in-person sessions, with a virtual participation option made available for attendees from other regions. This inclusive format ensured equal access to training for a wide range of innovation ecosystem stakeholders nationwide.
Key topics covered in the workshop included:
- the contents of the Point-of-Sale (POS) Terminal Law,
- how to register in the Taxpayer System,
- procedures for issuing and submitting electronic invoices,
- and step-by-step use of electronic commercial ledgers.
Through real-life case studies and an interactive Q&A format, the sessions aimed to analyze and resolve operational challenges faced by participants.
The IVCA’s role in designing, coordinating, and executing the workshop was aligned with its mission to advance specialized knowledge, facilitate collaboration among financial institutions, and build knowledge infrastructure within Iran’s innovation ecosystem. Close collaboration between the IVCA, the Innovation and Prosperity Fund, and other technical institutions resulted in effective responses to the practical needs of the participants.
All attendees received official certificates of participation, jointly issued by the Iranian Venture Capital Association and the Secretariat of the Working Group on Research and Technology Funds.
The workshop was led by Dr. Behrooz Azizi, a senior expert and experienced instructor in taxation and the Taxpayer System. Dr. Azizi adopted a highly practical and experience-based approach, providing in-depth analysis of technical and legal matters and offering actionable strategies for effective compliance.
The active participation of financial institutions and tech-driven firms from across the country made this event a unique opportunity for networking, experience exchange, and leveraging diverse perspectives on innovative taxation.
