Iran DemoDay Held in Partnership with the Iranian Venture Capital Association
From September 14 to 16, 2024 (24–26 Shahrivar 1403), the Iran DemoDay startup event was held at the Innovation and Prosperity Fund headquarters, jointly organized by Shanbeh Group and the Iranian Venture Capital Association (IRVC). The three-day event hosted over 160 investment-ready (VIP) startups and featured a dynamic program including pitching sessions, expert panels, mentoring camps, and investor roundtables.
Iran DemoDay served as a platform for startup profiling, showcasing innovative ideas, and addressing the specific needs of venture capitalists. By bringing together a broad spectrum of investors—ranging from VC firms and corporate VCs to angel investors—the event not only increased the likelihood of securing capital, but also facilitated meaningful knowledge-sharing and networking.
Startups that participated went through a structured investment-readiness process:
Application and document submission
Screening and selection
Participation in educational camps and mentoring sessions
Final investor showcase and formal introductions
During the main investor sessions, themed investment tables were set up based on industry verticals such as AI, fintech, tourism, education, and more. Startups were invited to present their business models in short, focused pitch rounds followed by Q&A with investors, enabling a practical and targeted engagement between entrepreneurs and financiers.
In addition to pitch activities, an exhibition space with 56 startup booths allowed founders to engage in informal discussions with attendees, expand partnerships, and pursue new business leads.
The third and final component of the event was dedicated to experience-sharing panels, moderated by Arash Sarvari, who hosted leading voices from the Iranian startup ecosystem in discussions about real-world challenges and success stories.
