IRVC Holds Investment Dialogue at Isfahan Chamber of Commerce
On the evening of October 2, 2024 (11 Mehr 1403), the Iranian Venture Capital Association held a dialogue session at the Isfahan Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture, moderated by Arash Sarvari. The event brought together a diverse group of economic stakeholders and investment professionals to explore challenges, opportunities, and future strategies for venture investment in Iran.

Speakers emphasized the critical importance of promoting investment aligned with the region’s economic capacity, noting that improved financial infrastructure could significantly drive provincial economic growth.

Mohammad Marvajol Ahkami, Director of the Isfahan Research & Technology Fund, stated that over 1,000 knowledge-based companies are active in Isfahan, and stressed the need for developing localized financing platforms to support their growth.

Engineer Vard, Head of the Innovation and Technology Financing Committee at the Chamber’s Investment Commission, highlighted the emergence of new financial institutions and the urgent need to build supporting infrastructure for sustainable investment in the province.

Dr. Shahir, Director General of Investment for Isfahan Province, emphasized the importance of human capital and data-driven investment. He noted that many licensed businesses have yet to attract sufficient capital due to imprecise targeting. According to him, between 2022 and 2023, nearly 4,000 enterprises in Isfahan obtained operational licenses, but only 30–40% of their production capacity is currently utilized. He suggested that contract manufacturing (production without owning a factory) could be a solution to unlock unused capacity.

Later in the event, Engineer Motaghi, organizer of the upcoming “EasyNext” event in December 2024, announced that a dedicated section for the Iranian Venture Capital Association will be featured in the program. He also extended a formal invitation to IRVC’s Secretary and members to participate.

In the closing panel, Mr. Abbasali Karshenas, Secretary of the Iranian Venture Capital Association, presented a performance overview of IRVC members for the year 1402 (2023–24), reporting:

IRR 3,200 billion in venture investments

IRR 6,000 billion in loan facilities

IRR 21,000 billion in guarantees issued for knowledge-based companies
