By decree of the President and the Board of Trustees of the Innovation and Prosperity Fund, Dr. Asghar Norollahzadeh was appointed as Member and President of the Fund’s Executive Board. This decision was made in accordance with the Fund’s statutes and in recognition of his managerial expertise and professional experience.
According to the Fund’s Public Relations Office, the decree stated:
“In implementation of Articles (10) and (12) of the amended Statute of the Fund, ratified on September 11, 2011, by the Council of Ministers, and based on the resolution of the Fund’s Board of Trustees; in view of your valuable commitment and experience, you are hereby appointed as Member and President of the Executive Board. It is expected that, with reliance on Almighty God and within the framework of the Constitution, the National Development Vision, the general policies of the system, and the Seventh Development Plan, and while observing the Code of Ethics of public servants, you will foster effective cooperation with relevant executive bodies, especially with the esteemed members of the Board of Trustees, to promote the knowledge-based economy and the commercialization of science.”
Dr. Norollahzadeh previously held key positions including President of the National Housing Fund, CEO of the Entrepreneurship Development Fund (Karfairini Omid), and Director of the Budget and Planning Office of Iran Airports Company. These experiences provide him with a solid foundation to play an effective role in advancing the objectives of the Innovation and Prosperity Fund and strengthening engagement with the national technology ecosystem.
The National Association of Venture Capital of Iran regards this appointment as a new opportunity to expand joint collaborations. Such collaborations could further support startups, knowledge-based companies, and the development of venture capital in the country. Initiatives such as specialized workshops, joint reports, and stronger connections between the Association’s members and the Fund are among the areas that can be effectively pursued under the Fund’s new leadership.
At the same time, sincere appreciation is extended to Dr. Mohammad Sadegh Khayyatian for his dedicated efforts during his tenure as President of the Fund. His contributions significantly strengthened the country’s innovation ecosystem and fostered productive collaborations with the Association. Undoubtedly, the achievements of his term will serve as a valuable foundation for the Fund’s future endeavors.
