A joint meeting was held between the members of the Executive Board of the Research and Technology Funds Commission and Dr. Hamidi, Secretary of the Working Group on Research and Technology Funds. The main focus of the meeting was the review of the professional qualification bylaw for fund managers\u2014including CEOs, board members, and the mechanisms for administering professional competency examinations. Comprehensive explanations were provided on the necessity of acquiring professional credits, the role of specialized exams for managers, and the standardization of the evaluation process. Members of the Executive Board also discussed their perspectives and highlighted relevant operational challenges.
These discussions demonstrated the Commission\u2019s effectiveness as the technical arm of the Iranian Venture Capital Association in identifying practical issues faced by funds and offering applicable solutions. The session also reaffirmed the Association\u2019s role as a coordinating entity between funds and policymaking bodies, emphasizing the importance of establishing a coherent channel for information exchange, expert synthesis, and reflecting ecosystem-wide issues.<\/p>

The meeting continued with a discussion on the training programs required for fund managers and experts. Participants reviewed the calendar of training workshops and examined proposed topics including anti\u2013money laundering, financial statement analysis, taxation and related regulations, debt collection methods, and other educational needs of the funds. Suggestions were also presented regarding instructor selection and improving the quality of training courses.
This part of the meeting highlighted the importance of sustaining the Association\u2019s role in standardizing training courses and strengthening the professional competencies of fund managers. It also emphasized the need for synergy among Commissions, working groups, and training units to ensure that the cycle of course design, implementation, and evaluation proceeds in an integrated manner based on the real needs of the funds.<\/p>

Another topic addressed was the planning for the publication of the book \u201cPrinciples of Accounting for Research and Technology Funds,\u201d<\/em> which was emphasized as a foundational and essential step toward enhancing the specialized knowledge of the funds. This initiative is part of the Association\u2019s broader efforts to develop reference materials and reliable documentation for the technology-financing ecosystem. The plan also aligns with the Association\u2019s policy to strengthen the knowledge infrastructure and establish a shared technical language among funds and partner institutions.<\/p>

According to the conclusions reached, it was decided that the Commission would prepare its final recommendations in the coming days and submit them to the relevant working group for review and decision-making.
This summary once again highlighted the importance of maintaining specialized meetings, reinforcing coordination between Commissions and working groups, and strengthening the role of the Iranian Venture Capital Association in establishing a structured mechanism for synergy, addressing shared issues, and enhancing policy coherence across the innovation ecosystem.
